Rusty Effect- part I

Witajcie!
Pora na nasze produkty miesiąca, którymi tym razem są:

Hello!
This time our products of the months are:

i / and

Zacznijmy od tego jak używać proszku:
So, let's learn how to use the powder:

Proszek do tworzenia naturalnego efektu rdzy. Można używać na papierze, płótnie, metalu i innych elementach dekoracyjnych.
Instrukcja użycia:
  3. Pozostaw do wyschnięcia 12-24 godziny. Można podsuszyć nagrzewnicą, ale najlepsze efekty daje pozostawienie do naturalnego wysuszenia.
  4. Końcowy efekt to szorstka, rdzawa tekstura, która można delikatnie podbarwić farbami, w celu uzyskania bardziej naturalnego efektu, np. kolorem turkusowym.
  5. Proces można powtórzyć kilka razy dla uzyskania lepszego efektu, czy grubszej warstwy rdzy.

Rusty Bronze powder is an iron based powder for making rust effect on any kind of projects, backgrounds or elements.
  1. Mix the powder with 13 arts gel medium or Multimedium and apply using spatula or brush on your project. You can also apply gel medium first and then sprinkle with powder, which will stick to the gel. The best result you will achieve on dark background for example black gesso or Vivid Vintage Paints.
  2. Next spray the mixture with vinegar to activate the corrosion process. You can dilute the vinegar with water, but the best and intense effect is with pure white vinegar. Intead of vinegar you can use reagents for example: Dla uzyskania szybszego efektu i różnych odcieni rdzy można użyć zamiast octu odczynników do rdzy np: http://13arts.pl/pl/p/Odczynniki-Efekt-Rdzy-3x20ml/3271, the effekt will be quicker, and have different shades of rust.
  3. Leave it for drying for 12-24 hours. You can use heat gut to speed up the process, but the best result you achieve by air drying.
  4. The final effect is coarse, rusty texture, which you can softly color with paints to achieve more natural patina look, for example turquoise paint.
  5. You can repeat the whole process for more intense, thicker texture effect.

Nasi projektanci już się nimi bawili. Zobaczcie co stworzyli:
Our Designers had some fun playing with them. Look what they've made:

Marta stworzyła rdzę na kartonowym pudełku i tekturkach poprzez użycie Rusty Powder z roztworem wodno-octowym a następnie podkreśliła rdzawe efekty mgiełką patina i Shiny Powdersami.

Marta made rust on a cardbox and chipboard by using Rusty Powder with water and vinegar, and then she underlined the details with patina mists and shiny powders:

Hello my beautiful 13 Arts friends. Fiona here with you today to share a little art journal page I created featuring the gorgeous "Until Dawn" collection and the NEW watercolor paints which I am SUPER excited about!

I created a waterfall effect using the paints, some pattern paper and gesso through a stencil. I'm really happy with the final outcome.

I love this little verse from the A4 sticker collection. It is such a beautiful little poem.

Last project from our GD - Libeeti Frenkel

Czas na trzecie - i niestety ostatnie - spotkanie z naszym Gościem.
Dzisiaj nasza utalentowana Gościnna Projektantka-  Libeeti prezentuje swój piękny layout!

It's time for the third and the last meeting with our Guest.
Today our talented Guest Designer-  Libeeti presents her lovely layout!

Hi dear 13@rts fans,
It's Libeeti, with my final project as 13@rts Guest Designer.
I enjoyed my term so much, and I'm grateful for the chance to work with 13@rts gorgeous papers and products.

This canvas goes along with May challenge, which is Pastels. I've used all kinds of soft turquoise shades, with a touch of brown and gold.

I started by priming the patterned paper with clear gesso. Then I used white gesso over a stencil. The next stage was adding the colors, all dilutted with water, to get the soft pastel look.

On top of the turqouise colors, I addes splashes of brown and gold, and when dried, I stamped around with verious stamps.

I matted the photo on another patterned paper, and backed it on a chipboard to get some dimension. I also adhered the inspiration phrase sticker on the photo.

I adhered the chipboards and the flowers using gell medium. For the final touch, I splatter again with gold and brown mists.

I took a canvas, just a little bigger than the patterned paper, and colored the edges with pastel turqouise mist, diluted with water. I distressed the edges, both of the pattenred paper and the canvas, with some distress ink, and adhered the patterned paper on the canvas.

Now I have a beautiful inspiring canvas to hang on my wall, and it will alaways remind me how grateful I am for all the goods in my life.

Thank you, 13@rts, for having me as your Guest Designer for the last 3 months.
Hope to see you all around, and you're always welcome to pop over to my FB page and my blog.

Just the Girls - Layout with Shona

Hello 13Arts fans! Shona here today, and I have a fun mixed media layout to share. I always love the look of a bold color with black contrast, so decided to step outside of my safely zone and give it a try…and I love it! I started with papers from the beautiful Vintage Moments Collection and covered my base piece with Clear Gesso. This will protect the papers from the mediums I will use.

Next I did some stencil work in the background with the Greeting and Tattered Grid Masks and some Modeling Paste. Then I added layers of lace trims and some 13 Arts chipboard pieces. The NEW Watercolor set was perfect to add some bold colors…I went with the bold purple colors and soft browns.

I love the stickers and Film Transparent butterflies…they look perfect here. I also added splashes of Black Gesso to finish off the layout.

I also used the Watercolors to color the pretty 13 Arts Flowers! Some Gel Medium and 3D balls to finish off this lovely cluster!

That is it for me today… Take care and happy scrapping!!

Together is a wonderful place to be

Hello dear 13@rts friends

I am back on the blog today sharing this layout I created using a combination of different #13arts products. Have you seen our new rusting powder and watercolor paints? I am in love with both of these fabulous products and I think you will agree that you can create beautiful pages using both.

I used the Rose Garden paper and Queen of hearts paper for my background. Once I glued them on a chipboard 12 x12 sheet I used #13arts gel medium to cover my whole surface. It's a little bit like cheating as it allows you to control the amount of mediums and paint you use. It does help strengthen the paper too so it's a good idea to start this way.

Next I used a make-up sponge to sponge Acrylic Paint -  Coral Pink through the Vintage Words Stencil.

I then added some of the colours in the watercolour set by stamping it across the stencilling. Here is where the gel medium really does the trick because if it's too dark too much or just not to your taste you can change it using a wet wipe.

Later I used the same stencil to add some 13Arts Modelling Paste.

I sprayed my chipboard and metal roses with Chalk Grey Mist spray and then added the rust powder with Acrylic Liquid. I added some browning colours by spraying it with Patina Bronze Mist

Last but not least I arranged embellishments including : Vintage Moments 2 Big words and Vintage moments words stickers  and  flowers.  To finish it off I added my favorite Old Silver Splash ink Glitter.

Till next time have fun and enjoy creating.
